Portable Boombox for Retro Media

The G Keni BT-9224MU combines a top-loading CD player, cassette deck, AM/FM radio, USB playback and 5.1 Bluetooth in one red unit. It runs from mains power or six C-size batteries for portable listening. A 3.5 mm headphone jack and the supplied remote control let you listen privately or manage playback from across the room.

Sustained Use Behaviour

Mains operation removes any battery-life limit for long listening sessions at home. The cassette mechanism plays and records continuously while powered, and the dual 3 W speakers maintain output without thermal throttling. Remote control works only for CD, Bluetooth and USB functions, so cassette and radio need manual operation during extended use.

Cassette Type Decides Fit

This deck accepts standard compact cassettes for playback and recording only; it does not support chrome or metal tape bias adjustment. Buyers with high-bias or metal tape collections will not get correct equalisation. The single USB port reads MP3 and WMA files from flash drives but cannot record to them.

Questions about this item

Does the 5.1 Bluetooth speaker run warm or make fan noise during all-day playback?

The unit has no fan and uses passive cooling, so it stays quiet and only mildly warm even after hours of use.

Which cables or accessories must I already own to power the boombox from the mains?

An AC power cord is included; no extra cable is needed for mains operation.

Will my older cassettes play at the correct speed on the BT-9224MU mechanism?

The playback-only deck runs at standard cassette speed, so existing tapes play back normally.
