Auto-Feed 300-Sheet Shredder

The GBC WSM1757608 is a home-office shredder with an auto-feed chamber that accepts up to 300 sheets. You load the stack, shut the door and walk away while it destroys documents. A manual feed slot handles up to 10 sheets at a time for smaller jobs. Super cross-cut action produces P-4 level security particles measuring 5/32" x 1 3/16".

Power and Space Check

Confirm a standard mains outlet is available near the intended location. The unit measures 29.00" high, 17.00" wide and 19.00" deep, so verify the desk or floor area accommodates that footprint. A 16-gallon pull-out bin requires clearance in front for removal. No special voltage or circuit is indicated in the specifications.

Build Quality and Daily Use

An induction motor and cooling fan support a 60-minute continuous run time for high-volume sessions. Jam-prevention features and a bin-full sensor keep operation straightforward. The lockable bin secures shredded material against tampering. The mechanism accepts staples, paper clips and credit cards through the manual feeder. Ultra-quiet running reduces noise in shared spaces.

Questions about this item

Does the GBC WSM1757608 come with shredder oil or bags, or do I need to buy them separately?

The shredder includes a lockable 16 gallon bin and the cutting mechanism ready to use. Shredder oil and waste bags are not included and must be purchased separately.

Should I choose the auto feed chamber or the manual feed slot for a mixed workload of large batches and occasional single pages?

Use the auto feed chamber for stacks up to 300 sheets — load, shut the door and walk away. Use the manual feed slot for up to 10 sheets at a time, including credit cards, staples and paper clips.

What does the 60 minute run time mean for daily office use with the 16 gallon bin?

You can shred continuously for 60 minutes before a cool-down is needed, and the 16 gallon bin holds the resulting 5/32" x 1 3/16" super cross-cut particles from hundreds of sheets, reducing emptying frequency.
