USB-C PD Trigger Module for Prototyping
The GCON ZY12PDN is a USB-C Power Delivery trigger board designed for engineers and hobbyists who need adjustable DC power from a PD source. It negotiates PD 2.0 and 3.0 voltages so you can power custom circuits without a dedicated bench supply. This module is not for users who want a ready-to-use charger or automatic voltage selection for consumer devices.
Adjustable 3 V to 20 V Output Up to 100 W
The board requests any voltage between 3 V and 20 V supported by the connected PD charger, delivering up to 5 A and 100 W through screw terminals. It only triggers PD decoy profiles and does not support Quick Charge or other proprietary protocols, so it cannot negotiate power from non-PD sources. Builders who need QC triggering or USB-A to USB-C conversion must use different hardware.
Passive Operation With No Active Cooling
The module draws negligible power itself and runs silently because it has no fan or active components beyond the negotiation IC. Heat depends entirely on the attached load and the efficiency of the source charger, so thermal management is the responsibility of your circuit design. It is not suited for enclosed high-current applications without external heatsinking.

Questions about this item
Will the ZY12PDN module negotiate power from my older USB-C charger that only supports PD 2.0?
Yes, it triggers any voltage that meets the PD 2.0 specification, so a PD 2.0 charger will work within the 3–20 V range.
How can I verify the ZY12PDN is delivering the voltage I selected after wiring it up?
Measure the screw-terminal output with a multimeter; the module will hold the negotiated PD voltage between 3 V and 20 V.
Does the ZY12PDN package include a USB-C cable or only the trigger board with screw terminals?
The description lists the trigger module with screw terminals; a USB-C cable and any load-side connectors must be sourced separately.
