What This Extender Does

The GCROWN HDMI KVM extender transmits 1080p video at 60 Hz over Cat5e or Cat6 cable up to 40 m or 50 m respectively. USB keyboard and mouse signals travel the same link for full remote control. It is built for operators who need a display and input devices far from the source computer.

Check Your Cabling and Power

Verify you have solid-core Cat5e or Cat6 patch cable rated for the required run length. The transmitter needs a power adapter connected before the link will activate. Ensure both ends have an HDMI port and a free USB-A port for the keyboard and mouse.

Thermals Noise and Power Draw

The units are passively cooled and produce no fan noise during operation. Power consumption is limited to the small adapter supplied with the transmitter. Normal use stays cool to the touch and adds negligible load to the source system.

Questions about this item

Does the package include the Cat5e or Cat6 cable needed to reach the 40m or 50m distance, or do I buy that separately?

The extender ships as a transmitter and receiver pair with power adapters; the Ethernet cable for 40m over Cat5e or 50m over Cat6 is not included and must be purchased separately.

Should I choose Cat5e or Cat6 cable for the longest reliable run?

Cat6 or Cat7 cable supports the full 50m (164ft) distance at 1080p@60Hz, while Cat5e is limited to 40m (130ft); for maximum reach and signal quality use Cat6.

Will the 1080p@60Hz signal stay sharp on a typical office monitor at the far end of a 50m Cat6 run?

Yes, the extender delivers lossless 1080p@60Hz video compliant with HDMI 1.3 over 50m of Cat6, so the remote display matches a direct connection.
