Lets two computers share two USB peripherals with one-button switching and 5 Gbps data transfer
This USB 3.0 switch lets two computers share up to two USB peripherals such as keyboards, mice, printers or webcams. A single button toggles device access between the connected systems. LED indicators show which computer currently controls the devices. The unit operates without drivers on Windows, macOS, Chrome OS and Linux.
Instead of unplugging and reconnecting peripherals when moving between a work desktop and a personal laptop, the switch handles the changeover instantly. The jump is worthwhile when you regularly use the same keyboard, mouse or printer with both machines and want to avoid wear on ports and cables. Data transfers between the two computers run at up to 5Gbps and remain compatible with USB 2.0 devices.
Connect each computer to the switch using the two included 5 ft USB 3.0 A-to-A cables, then attach up to two peripherals to the output ports. The switch requires no external power adapter and draws power from the host ports. It does not support video output, so separate monitor connections are still needed for each computer.

It uses two USB 3.0 Type-A upstream ports for the computers and two USB 3.0 Type-A downstream ports for shared peripherals, with two 5 ft USB 3.0 A-to-A cables included.
Connect the included cables from each computer to the upstream ports, plug peripherals into the downstream ports, then press the button to select the active PC; the step often missed is pressing the button after cabling.
No scheduled maintenance is required; if a cable wears out, replace it with another USB 3.0 A-to-A cable, and the driver-free switch itself has no user-serviceable parts.
