Portable USB audio interface for creators

The GE 22M is a compact 2-in 2-out USB audio interface designed for podcasters, streamers, guitarists and vocalists. It provides two combo XLR and 6.35 mm inputs with 48 V phantom power for condenser microphones. Stereo RCA outputs connect powered monitors or a PA system while a 6.35 mm headphone jack enables direct monitoring.

USB 2.0 bandwidth and driverless operation

The unit communicates over a standard USB A to B link limited to USB 2.0 speeds which caps simultaneous 48 kHz channels to two in and two out. No drivers are required on macOS or Windows XP and later so the interface appears as a generic audio device in any recording software. Phantom power and analogue gain are controlled entirely by hardware switches on the front panel.

Metal chassis with desktop footprint

The all-metal enclosure measures 13 x 12 x 5 cm and weighs 0.322 kg making it stable enough to stay put on a desk yet small enough for a laptop bag. Each input channel has its own gain fader and LED indicator so levels can be set at a glance. A USB/Direct toggle routes the input signal straight to the headphone output for zero-latency monitoring while recording.

Questions about this item

Should I choose the GE 22M over another capacity or version for my setup?

The GE 22M is the single model offered in this series; it provides two combo XLR/6.35 mm inputs with 48 V phantom power, stereo RCA outputs, a 6.35 mm headphone jack and USB connectivity in a 13 cm × 12 cm × 5 cm enclosure.

What does the 48 kHz audio resolution mean when I am actually recording?

It sets the sampling rate at 48 kHz, so each second of audio is captured in 48 000 slices, giving CD-quality fidelity for podcasts, streaming or music tracks.

Which USB standard does the interface use and what does that limit in practice?

The unit connects via USB and draws 5 V power through a USB-C to USB cable, so it works on any standard USB port without an external supply.
