DisplayPort extender over CAT-7
The Gefen EXT-DP-2CAT7 extends a DisplayPort 1.1a source up to 100 feet using two CAT-7 cables. It supports HDCP and up to 7.1 channels of linear PCM audio. The receiver draws power from the first cable, so no external supply is needed at the display end.
Resolution limits by cable count
With two CAT-7 cables the extender reaches 2560 x 1600. A single cable handles 1920 x 1200 or 1080p at 120 Hz. Audio sampling rates from 32 kHz to 192 kHz are supported across both configurations.
16-position EQ rotary switch
A 16-position equaliser on the receiver compensates for cable skew at the far end. An HPD auto-calibration button and pre-emphasis and drive-level switches provide further signal tuning. These controls decide whether the link stays stable over the full 30 metre run.
