Compact CD Boombox for Home and Outdoor Use

The Gelielim 9225 is a top-loading portable boombox that plays standard CDs, CD-R and CD-RW discs. It does not support MP3-encoded CDs. Built-in Bluetooth lets you stream audio from phones or tablets, while AM and FM tuners cover 520 to 1720 kHz and 87.5 to 108 MHz respectively. A 3.5 mm AUX input, USB, SD and MMC card slots plus a headphone jack give multiple wired and private-listening options. Power comes from the included 120 V AC cord or six C batteries for true portability.

Limits of Disc, Radio and Wireless Playback

The CD mechanism handles only Red Book audio and data discs without MP3 files, so compressed music collections on disc will not play. AM and FM reception depends on local signal strength and the extendable antenna; there is no digital radio or internet streaming capability. Bluetooth range and stability follow standard Class 2 behaviour and can be affected by walls or interference. The USB, SD and MMC slots read supported audio files but do not charge connected devices.

Capacity and Headroom for Everyday Listening

The integrated stereo speakers deliver room-filling sound for bedrooms, kitchens or garden gatherings at moderate volumes. At higher levels the compact enclosure reaches its acoustic limits and bass response rolls off. Battery life varies with volume and disc use; six 1.5 V C cells provide hours of portable operation but will need replacement on longer trips. The 2.6 lb weight and carry handle make it easy to move, yet the unit is not pocket-sized and requires a flat surface for stable disc playback.

Questions about this item

Which version of the Gelielim 9225 should I pick for my needs?

Only one model, the 9225 in white, is offered. It plays CD, CD-R and CD-RW discs (not MP3 CDs), streams via Bluetooth, and reads USB, SD and MMC cards.

What does the 2.6 lb weight mean when I carry it around the house?

At 2.6 lb with a built-in handle, the 8 × 7.5 × 4.3 inch unit is light enough to move between rooms or take outside without strain.

What does the 3.5 mm AUX jack actually let me connect?

The 3.5 mm AUX input accepts any wired audio source — phone, tablet, MP3 player — so you can play devices that lack Bluetooth.
