Stylish portable stereo boombox

The JENSEN CD-590-GR combines Bluetooth connectivity, a top-loading CD player, a cassette player/recorder and AM/FM radio in one compact unit. Stream audio wirelessly from compatible devices up to 33 feet away. The blue back-lit LCD shows disc details and the player handles CD-R, CD-RW and MP3 discs. A foldable carrying handle and telescopic antenna make it easy to take anywhere.

Thermals noise and power draw

The boombox runs on 120V AC at 60Hz mains power or six C batteries for portable use. No active cooling fans are present so operation is silent apart from the disc and tape mechanisms. Power consumption stays low during typical playback and radio listening. The integrated stereo speakers deliver sound without external amplifier heat.

Build fit and connections

An auxiliary line-in jack lets you connect phones, MP3 players or other analogue sources directly. Bluetooth A2DP and AVRCP support handles wireless streaming from modern devices. The top-loading disc tray and front cassette door need clear access above and in front of the unit. Mains or battery power keeps placement flexible for indoor or outdoor listening.

Questions about this item

How do I power the CD-590-GR for portable use, and which step is often missed?

Insert six C batteries with correct polarity; the compartment cover must click fully shut or the unit will not switch on.

What part of the CD-590-GR will need replacement first with regular use?

The cassette drive belts and pinch roller wear out before the CD mechanism and should be replaced when tapes slip or audio muffles.

At what range does the Bluetooth link on the CD-590-GR start to drop under continuous playback?

The wireless connection is rated to 33 feet; walls or interference usually reduce the reliable distance well before that limit.
