Center Channel Speaker for Home Theater

This passive center channel speaker uses a custom 5-inch woofer and a 20mm silk-dome horn tweeter to reproduce dialogue and effects. It requires an external amplifier or receiver to operate and includes a bass port foam plug for tuning. The cabinet is wall-mountable for flexible placement near a television.

Passive Design Requires External Power

Because the speaker has no built-in amplification, it must connect to a receiver or amplifier that can supply 10 to 80 watts into an 8-ohm load. The wired terminals accept bare wire, banana plugs, or U-shaped connectors for a secure hookup.

88 dB Sensitivity Defines Amplifier Match

With a rated sensitivity of 88 dB, this speaker needs adequate amplifier power to reach reference listening levels in larger rooms. Buyers seeking higher output with less power should consider models with greater sensitivity.

Questions about this item

Should I pick the 5-inch or 6.5-inch driver version for my center channel?

The specifications list both a 5-inch woofer and a 6.5-inch driver unit; the 5-inch model is detailed in the main description with dual bass reflex ports and a horn-loaded tweeter.

What does the 88 dB sensitivity mean when I connect this speaker to my receiver?

At 88 dB SPL the speaker produces a strong output level with modest amplifier power, so a typical 10 to 80 watt receiver will drive it to comfortable home-theater volumes.

The specs show 4 ohms and 8 ohms impedance — which one applies and what does it cap?

The detailed specification lists 8 ohms nominal impedance, which matches the 10 to 80 watt input power rating and ensures stable operation with most AV receivers.
