Power-limited communication cable

This Carol C0720A.41.10 cable is a power-limited and communication cable designed for computer systems, control systems and communications wiring. It carries a riser fire rating under NEC Article 800 CMR and is supplied on a 1000 ft reel in a box for continuous pulls.

22 AWG stranded conductors with foil shield

The cable uses two 22 AWG stranded conductors made from seven strands each, insulated with S-R PVC and wrapped in a 100 percent aluminum/polyester Flexfoil shield. A gray PVC jacket brings the outside diameter to 0.2 in and the assembly is rated for a maximum of 300 V.

Riser-rated reel for indoor vertical runs

The CMR rating allows installation in vertical shafts between floors without conduit, while the reel-in-box packaging pays out cleanly and stores without tangling. The shielded pair reduces cross-talk in control and data circuits, but the 300 V limit means it cannot serve mains-voltage loads.

Questions about this item

Will the 22 AWG stranded conductors work with existing 22 AWG solid wire in my control system?

Yes, both are 22 AWG so the cross-section matches; use connectors rated for stranded-to-solid transitions to keep contact resistance low.

How can I verify the 100 % aluminum/polyester Flexfoil shield is intact after pulling the cable?

Check continuity between the shield drain wire and the foil at each end; a multimeter should show near-zero ohms if the shield is unbroken.

Does the reel-in-a-box include the 1000 ft length marked on the jacket, or must I buy a separate pull box?

The cable ships on a reel inside a box containing the full 1000 ft; no extra pull box is required.
