Ready-to-use webcam for 1080p calls

The Generic Surplus WC-1080 is a USB 2.0 webcam that captures colour video at 1920 x 1080 resolution using a 2 MP CMOS sensor. A built-in microphone handles audio so no separate headset is required for basic calls. The unit mounts on a monitor or desk and includes a 4.6 ft cable for flexible placement. Manual 360 rotation lets you point the lens exactly where you need it.

Suits home-office workers and casual streamers

This camera serves anyone who needs a simple plug-and-play device for Microsoft Teams, Skype or Zoom meetings at 1080p. Buyers who want higher frame rates, a wider field of view, or advanced low-light performance should look at something else. The fixed-focus lens and USB 2.0 bandwidth also limit suitability for professional content creation or fast-motion recording.

Max video resolution 1920 x 1080

The single specification that decides fit is the maximum video resolution of 1920 x 1080 at 1080p. If your conferencing platform or recording workflow demands 4K or a higher frame rate than USB 2.0 can deliver, this model will not meet that requirement. For standard 1080p calls the sensor and interface are sufficient.
