Stainless Steel Pedal Bin — 13.50 gal

This Genuine Joe receptacle holds 13.50 gallons and is built from steel with a galvanized liner. A foot pedal opens the self-closing door for hands-free waste disposal. The rounded top and nonporous finish simplify cleaning in commercial breakrooms.

Suited for high-traffic shared spaces

Offices, lobbies and staff kitchens benefit from the odor-controlling door and durable steel body. Facilities needing larger capacity, multiple compartments or automated sensor operation should consider other solutions.

Fits standard waste-management layouts

The freestanding design requires no mounting hardware or power supply. Its self-closing mechanism reduces cross-contamination risk, freeing staff from touching the lid during busy periods.

Questions about this item

Does the 13.50 gal Genuine Joe 58888 require a specific liner size or can I use standard bags?

The bin includes a galvanized liner built to fit the 13.50 gal capacity, so standard commercial bags sized for that volume will work without a proprietary liner.

Will the self-closing door on the 58888 stay shut if I keep an older swing-lid bin beside it for recycling?

The foot pedal opens the door only while pressed; it closes automatically when released, so a neighbouring swing-lid bin will not interfere with its operation.

How can I verify the 58888 pedal mechanism is working correctly after placing it in the breakroom?

Press the foot pedal — the door should open smoothly, stay open while the pedal is held, and snap shut fully when released, sealing odours inside.
