ATX board for Intel LGA 1700 CPUs with DDR5 memory up to 192 GB, four PCIe 4.0 M.2 slots, PCIe 5.0 graphics slot, Wi-Fi 7, 2.5 GbE LAN and USB 20 Gb/s Type-C ports
The GIGABYTE Z790 AORUS ELITE X WIFI7 is an ATX motherboard built on the Intel Z790 Express chipset for LGA 1700 processors. It supports 13th and 12th Generation Intel Core, Pentium Gold and Celeron CPUs. Four 288-pin DDR5 slots accept up to 192 GB of memory with XMP 3.0 profiles. A 16+1+2 phase digital VRM and thermal armour deliver stable power for demanding workloads.
Enthusiasts who want four PCIe 4.0 x4 M.2 connectors and a PCIe 5.0 x16 graphics slot will find the storage and expansion headroom they need. The board also provides 2.5 GbE LAN, Wi-Fi 7 with 320 MHz channels and Bluetooth 5.3 for modern networking. Builders requiring more than 192 GB of system memory or a different socket type should consider alternative platforms.
The maximum supported memory of 192 GB across four DDR5 DIMMs is the key specification that determines whether this motherboard fits a given build. Each slot can hold a 48 GB module and the dual-channel architecture scales with XMP 3.0 kits up to 8266 MT/s. If the planned workload exceeds this capacity limit, a different chipset or form factor will be required.

The motherboard includes the I/O shield, SATA cables, M.2 screws and standoffs, Wi-Fi 7 antenna, and driver disc. You must purchase a LGA 1700 CPU, DDR5 memory, storage drives, graphics card, power supply, case and CPU cooler separately.
The board supports XMP 3.0 kits from 5800 up to 8266 MT/s. Higher speeds need a strong memory controller and good cooling; 6000–7200 MT/s kits with low CAS latency are widely stable on these CPUs.
The primary PCIEX16 slot runs at PCIe 5.0 x16 from the CPU, giving a compatible GPU the full 5.0 bandwidth. Current cards run at PCIe 4.0, so the slot is ready for next-generation GPUs without a board change.
