ATX motherboard for Intel Core Ultra Series 2 processors with LGA 1851 socket, DDR5 memory up to 256GB, PCIe 5.0, five M.2 slots, dual Thunderbolt 4, WIFI7 and 5GbE LAN
The GIGABYTE Z890 AORUS PRO ICE is an ATX motherboard built around the Intel Z890 chipset for LGA 1851 processors. It targets enthusiasts assembling high-performance systems with DDR5 memory and expansive storage. Four memory slots support up to 256 GB capacity. Five M.2 sockets and four SATA 6 Gb/s ports provide dense drive connectivity.
Confirm the processor is an Intel Core Ultra Series 2 model for the LGA 1851 socket before purchase. The board accepts DDR5 modules only, with XMP 3.0 profiles ranging from 5600 to 9500 MT/s when overclocked. Ensure the power supply can feed the 16+1+2 phase 90 A power stage. Check case clearance for the VRM Thermal Armor and M.2 Thermal Guard heatsinks.
Under prolonged workloads the 16+1+2 phase VRM with 90 A smart power stages distributes current evenly across the VRM Thermal Armor. Each of the five M.2 slots is covered by an M.2 Thermal Guard to throttle NAND temperatures during continuous read and write cycles. The 5 GbE LAN and WIFI7 controllers maintain stable throughput without thermal throttling during extended transfers.

Other versions of this model
The motherboard ships with the board itself, an I/O shield, Wi-Fi antennas, SATA cables and mounting screws. A compatible LGA 1851 CPU cooler must be purchased separately.
Any DDR5 kit within the listed 5600–9500 MT/s range works. For stability choose a kit rated at 6000 or 6400 MT/s with XMP 3.0; higher speeds require strong cooling and a capable CPU.
You can install up to 256 GB total using four 64 GB DDR5 modules. Each slot accepts up to 64 GB, so the 256 GB limit is reached only when all four slots are filled.
