A remote KVM switch that streams 4K@30Hz video over Ethernet with H.264 hardware encoding, letting you control BIOS, install operating systems and transfer files on any connected computer
The GL.iNet GL-RM1 is a hardware-based KVM switch that provides remote keyboard, video and mouse control over an internet connection. It captures 4K video at 30 Hz using H.264 hardware encoding and streams it with low latency to a companion app. The unit runs on a quad-core ARM Cortex-A7 processor with 1 GB DDR3 memory and 8 GB eMMC storage. It draws power from a 5 V / 2 A USB-C source and fits in a compact 80 x 60 x 17.5 mm enclosure.
This switch suits IT professionals and home-office users who need to reboot machines, install operating systems via BIOS or transfer files without being on site. It works with laptops, desktops and servers that have an HDMI output and USB ports, and it requires no software on the target computer. Buyers who need multi-port switching, higher refresh rates or local console access should look at other solutions. The device also cannot be powered by Power Delivery adapters.
Connect the target computer using its HDMI video output and a USB 2.0 link for keyboard, mouse and file-transfer functions. A Gigabit Ethernet cable provides the network path for remote access, while the USB-C port accepts the included 5 V power supply. The USB device port can attach power-control accessories or flash drives for additional automation. No extra drivers or host-side applications are required on the controlled system.

It has a Gigabit Ethernet port, so a Cat 5e or better cable will give the full 1 Gbps link speed.
Yes, the HD IN port accepts up to 3840x2160@30Hz and will downscale lower resolutions such as 1080p automatically.
The device uses H.264 hardware encoding by design; you will see smooth 4K@30fps streaming with 30-60 ms latency in the remote session.
