  • Grommets every 18 inches simplify secure tie-down
  • UV-treated material resists sun degradation

Super heavy duty tarp for outdoor cover

The Global Industrial tarp measures four feet wide by twenty feet long and weighs eight ounces per square yard. Woven high-density polyethylene is laminated on both sides and heat-sealed at every seam and hem. The brown finish includes UV treatment for extended exposure.

Grommets and reinforced corners change tie-down

Brass grommets are spaced roughly eighteen inches around the perimeter with reinforced corner grommets. Poly twine runs inside the hemmed edges to distribute tension across the weave. The sixteen-by-sixteen weave count resists tearing when the tarp is pulled tight over irregular loads.

Finished size runs about two percent shorter than

Unfold the tarp, align the grommets with anchor points and secure with rope or bungee cords through each eyelet. The most common issue is discovering the finished dimensions are slightly smaller than the stated four-by-twenty footprint, so measure the coverage area before cutting any tie-downs.

Questions about this item

How often will the grommets spaced every 18 inches need replacement under normal use?

The grommets are reinforced at the corners and set into heat-sealed hems with poly twine, so they rarely require replacement unless the tarp suffers physical damage.

What is the first limit reached when this 8 oz tarp is left in continuous sun exposure?

UV treatment slows degradation, but prolonged daily sunlight will eventually break down the polyethylene fibers, causing brittleness before the waterproof laminate fails.

How much heat builds up under the brown tarp when it covers equipment all day in summer?

The brown colour absorbs more solar energy than lighter tarps, raising temperatures underneath noticeably, though the woven polyethylene still allows some airflow through the 16x16 weave.
