What this KVM switch does

This globalcrown KVM switch provides one-touch, bidirectional USB 3.0 sharing. It lets two USB 3.0 peripherals share a single computer or lets one USB 3.0 peripheral switch between two computers. The unit is driver-free on Windows 10, 8.1, 7, Vista, XP, Mac OS X, Linux and Chrome OS.

Who it suits and who it does not

It suits anyone who wants to share a printer, scanner or other USB 3.0 device between two PCs or Macs without unplugging cables. It is not for users who need to share more than two peripherals or who require switching for video, audio or network connections.

Capacity and headroom

The switch operates at USB 3.0 speeds up to 5 Gbps, which is sufficient for typical printers, scanners and external storage. Bandwidth is shared between the active ports, so simultaneous high-throughput transfers on multiple devices will reduce individual speeds.
