12x56" Bowens Mount Softbox Kit

The Glow Edge EZ Lock strip softbox kit delivers a rectangular 12 by 56 inch light source with Bowens mount compatibility for studio and location work. It ships with internal and external diffusers, an eggcrate grid, a reversible deflector disk and a 9.5 foot air-cushioned light stand. The combination suits fashion and portrait photographers who need directional yet flattering illumination.

Upgrade from small modifiers and fixed stands

Photographers moving up from compact softboxes or umbrella kits gain a larger, rectangular catchlight and tighter spill control from the included grid. The jump is worth it when session workflow demands quick assembly and a stand that reaches 9.5 feet while supporting 15 to 16 pounds of gear. The kit replaces separate modifier and stand purchases with a single coordinated package.

EZ Lock frame and air-cushioned column

The umbrella-style EZ Lock frame opens and collapses in seconds, reducing setup errors common with traditional rod-and-ring softboxes. The heavy-duty aluminium stand uses an air-cushioned centre column to prevent sudden drops when loosening the 2.9 foot footprint legs. Most issues arise if the Bowens speedring is not fully seated or if the grid is forced onto the front diffuser without aligning the hook-and-loop tabs.

Questions about this item

What Bowens-mount strobe or flash head fits the 12x56" softbox speedring?

Any Bowens-mount strobe, speedlight or flash accepts the included speedring adapter; the 12x56" softbox locks onto that ring with the EZ Lock umbrella-style frame.

How do you deploy the EZ Lock frame without bending the rods?

Spread the folded frame like an umbrella until the corner locks click, then attach the front diffuser and eggcrate grid; forcing the rods before the locks engage is the common mistake.

When should the internal diffuser, external diffuser or eggcrate grid be replaced?

Replace the internal or external diffuser if the fabric tears or yellows, and swap the eggcrate grid if cells collapse; all three pack into the storage bag for protection between shoots.
