Godox SB-UBW-3 Octagon Softbox

The Godox SB-UBW-3 is a 31.5in octagonal softbox designed for studio and location photography. Its umbrella-style frame opens quickly and mounts on standard light stands with umbrella holes. Photographers who want soft, wrap-around light from a speedlight or strobe will find the shape practical. It is not suited for shooters who need a collapsible panel that folds flat into a slim bag.

80cm silver interior with front diffusion

The 80cm silver reflective surface throws a bright, specular highlight pattern that wraps around a subject when the front diffusion cloth is fitted. Removing the cloth reverts the unit to a bare reflective umbrella for harder, more contrasty output. The octagon geometry produces natural catchlights in eyes. Users who require a perfectly even edge-to-edge spread across a large group may find the fall-off noticeable at the frame edges.

Carrying bag and quick-set umbrella frame

A zippered carrying bag is included for transport and storage. The umbrella mechanism deploys in seconds without rods or speed rings, so setup time stays minimal on location. The folded dimensions of 7.62 x 19.05 x 73.66 cm fit inside most gear cases. Photographers who need a rigid softbox that accepts grids or egg crates directly will need a different mounting system.

Questions about this item

Will the 80 cm octagon softbox mount on my existing light stand that has an umbrella hole?

Yes, the Godox SB-UBW-3 is designed to fit a variety of dome lights and flash units with umbrella holes, so it attaches directly to a stand that accepts umbrella shafts.

How can I confirm the silver interior is giving the intended reflective quality once assembled?

Open the umbrella fully, attach the front diffusion cloth, fire a test flash and check for even, bright catchlights with a smooth fall-off across the 80 cm surface.

Does the package include the carrying bag shown in the photos, or must I buy it separately?

The SB-UBW-3 ships with a storage bag included; no separate purchase is required for transport.
