Combo Docking Station and 6TB Drive

This package pairs a USB 3.0 docking station with a pre-installed 6TB 3.5" SATA hard drive. It is designed for users who need immediate, high-capacity external storage without assembling separate parts. The drive spins at 5700 RPM with 64MB cache for steady throughput on everyday workloads.

6TB Capacity and 8TB Drive Limit

The included 6TB drive provides substantial space for media libraries, backups and archived projects. The dock accepts any 2.5" or 3.5" SATA drive up to 8TB, so larger single drives can be swapped in when the original fills up. Drives exceeding 8TB are not supported by this hardware.

USB 3.0 Hot-Swap Dock for SATA Drives

The station connects via USB 3.0 at up to 5Gbps and works with Windows, Mac OS and Linux without drivers. Hot-swap capability lets you change drives without rebooting, while power and activity LEDs confirm status. It frees up internal bays and removes the need for drive enclosures or case disassembly.

Questions about this item

Will the NEX-DS1U3 docking station work with my older 2.5" SATA drives alongside the included 3.5" 6TB drive?

Yes, the dock supports both 2.5" and 3.5" SATA drives up to 8TB, so you can hot-swap your existing drives with the included 6TB 5700 RPM unit.

How do I confirm the USB 3.0 connection is running at 5Gbps after plugging in the dock?

Check the Power and HDD Activity LEDs on the dock; then verify the host reports a SuperSpeed USB 3.0 link and that transfer speeds approach the 5Gbps interface limit.

Does the combo package include the power adapter and USB cable, or must I buy them separately?

The combo includes the NEX-DS1U3 docking station and the WL 6TB 3.5" SATA hard drive; cables and power supply are part of the standard dock package.
