Goldwood Sound TS80C In-Ceiling 8" 4-Speaker Set

Four-Pair Ceiling Array

This four-speaker set from Goldwood Sound installs flush in the ceiling for distributed home-theatre or whole-house audio. Each unit uses a traditional passive design that draws power from any receiver or amplifier with raw speaker-wire outputs. The Pressure Lock mounting system clamps to drywall without extra hardware, and the paintable grilles blend with the surrounding decor. Buyers who need powered or wireless speakers cannot use this system.

Passive Amplifier Limits

The speakers present an 8-ohm load and require an amplifier delivering no less than 10 watts and no more than 250 watts per channel. CL3-rated in-wall speaker wire must be used for the connection between the receiver and each speaker. No internal amplification, digital processing or network streaming is built in, so the system cannot function without a separate compatible amplifier. Installations that lack a suitable wired amplifier are not supported.

Frequency Range And Coverage

Frequency response spans 32 Hz to 20 kHz at 92 dB sensitivity, handled by an 8-inch woven-fibre woofer and a pivoting silk-titanium dome tweeter with a 12 dB per octave crossover. The 9.625-inch cutout and 3.5625-inch mounting depth fit standard ceiling cavities, while the 11.0625-inch overall diameter covers the opening. Rooms requiring deeper bass extension below 32 Hz or higher SPL than the 250-watt limit allows will need additional subwoofers or larger drivers.
