Grandstream GWN7661E In-Wall Wi-Fi 6 Access Point

The Grandstream GWN7661E is an in-wall AX3000 Wi-Fi 6 access point built for offices, hotels, and apartments. It delivers 3 Gbps wireless throughput through four Gigabit wireline ports. The unit supports up to 256 concurrent client devices and uses 2x2:2 on 2.4 GHz and 3x3:2 on 5 GHz with MU-MIMO and OFDMA technology.

Ideal for hospitality and multi-dwelling deployments

This access point suits installers who need an in-wall form factor that blends into rooms and supports voice-over-Wi-Fi with Grandstream IP phones. It fits projects requiring PoE or PoE+ auto-detection and local management of up to 50 units. Builders needing ceiling-mount or outdoor-rated hardware should look elsewhere.

Embedded controller manages fifty local GWN APs

The on-board controller handles up to 50 GWN access points without extra hardware. For larger estates, GDMS cloud management offers unlimited scale while GWN Manager provides on-premise software control. Choose this model when a built-in controller for fifty nodes meets the site design.

Questions about this item

Do I need a PoE or PoE+ switch to power the GWN7661E in-wall access point?

The GWN7661E self-adapts its power draw when it detects PoE or PoE+ on the Ethernet link, so a compliant injector or switch is required.

Can the GWN7661E serve older 2.4 GHz clients while running 802.11ax on 5 GHz?

Yes, the 2x2:2 radio on 2.4 GHz and the 3x3:2 radio on 5 GHz operate simultaneously, supporting legacy devices alongside Wi-Fi 6 clients.

How do I confirm the GWN7661E is managing nearby APs after setup?

The embedded controller can manage up to 50 local GWN APs; check the controller dashboard to verify each AP appears online and connected.
