Tri-Band Wi-Fi 7 Access Point

The Grandstream GWN7672 is a tri-band Wi-Fi 7 indoor access point built for high-density environments such as offices, campuses or venues. It delivers 5.38 Gbps wireless throughput and supports up to 256 concurrent client devices. A 2.5 Gigabit Ethernet port and a 10G SFP+ uplink provide 3.5 Gigabit wireline capacity. Bluetooth Low Energy is included for location-based services.

Upgrade from Wi-Fi 6 hardware

The GWN7672 replaces legacy Wi-Fi 6 access points such as the GWN7662 when greater spectral efficiency and lower latency are required. The jump is worth it for deployments that need 44:4 MU-MIMO with DL/UL OFDMA on the 5 GHz band and advanced QoS for real-time applications. An embedded controller manages up to 50 local GWN series APs, while GDMS Networking offers unlimited cloud management.

Practical limits of Wi-Fi 7 and 802.11

Coverage reaches up to 175 metres in open space, though walls and interference reduce effective range. The 2.5 Gigabit Ethernet and 10G SFP+ ports set the hard ceiling for backhaul throughput. PoE or PoE+ power is auto-detected, so the unit adapts to the available switch budget. Buyers who need more than 50 locally managed APs or fibre uplinks beyond 10G should plan a different architecture.
