Grandstream GWN7701M 8-Port 2.5G Switch

The Grandstream GWN7701M is an unmanaged multi-gigabit switch with eight 2.5G copper ports and one SFP+ fiber port. It delivers 100, 1000 or 2500Mbps connectivity for home offices and small-to-medium businesses. Fanless operation keeps the unit silent. Auto MDI/MDIX crossover simplifies cabling on every port.

Suits Simple High-Speed Uplinks.

This switch fits setups that need plug-and-play 2.5G links to a 10G or 1G fiber uplink without configuration. It does not serve buyers who require VLANs, QoS, SNMP monitoring or any Layer 2 management features. Storm control is fixed at 100Mbps and cannot be adjusted. Teams needing port-level traffic shaping should look at managed alternatives.

One SFP+ Port for 1G or 10G Fiber Uplink

The single SFP+ slot accepts modules running at 1 Gigabit or 10 Gigabit speeds, defining the switch's uplink capacity. All eight copper ports negotiate down to 100 or 1000Mbps when connected devices do not support 2.5G. Green technology reduces power draw during low-traffic periods. LED indicators show link, activity and speed per port plus device power status.

Questions about this item

Does the fanless GWN7701M need any moving parts replaced during its life?

No, the switch is fanless so there are no moving parts to wear out or replace.

What throughput ceiling appears first when all eight 2.5G ports run at full speed?

Each copper port tops out at 2500 Mbps and the single SFP+ uplink reaches 10 Gbps, so the uplink is the first bottleneck.

How much power does the unit draw and does it get hot running all day?

Green technology reduces power consumption and the fanless design means silent, low-heat operation.
