Canon PIXMA Print Head QY6-0082

This Graviton QY6-0082 print head replaces the original component in Canon PIXMA MG5470, MG5500, MG5540, MG5650, MG5740, MG5750, MG5751 and MG6600 printers. It restores print capability when the existing head fails or degrades. The part is supplied new and matches the manufacturer part number QY6-0082. It is not for users whose printer model is absent from the compatibility list.

Consistent Output Over Extended Print Runs

The print head maintains nozzle performance during sustained printing sessions rather than only short bursts. Ink flow remains stable across multiple pages, reducing banding or missing lines that appear when a worn head overheats. Regular cleaning cycles keep the nozzles clear during long jobs. It does not suit environments requiring continuous high-volume production printing.

Direct Slot Replacement With Alignment Checks

Installation consists of opening the printer carriage, removing the old head and seating the QY6-0082 unit into the same slot. The printer then runs an automatic alignment routine to calibrate nozzle position. Common issues arise if protective tape is left on the contacts or if the carriage latch is not fully secured. It is not for printers that report a different part number or show carriage mechanism damage.

Questions about this item

Does the QY6-0082 print head run hot or draw extra power during long print jobs?

The print head is a passive component with no independent power draw; heat and noise come from the printer itself and are unchanged by fitting this part.

Which Canon printers must I already own for the QY6-0082 to fit?

It fits models including iP7230, iP7240, iP7280, MG5420, MG5440, MG5450, MG5460, MG5470, MG5500, MG5540, MG5650, MG5740, MG5750, MG5751, MG6600 and many others listed in the compatibility data.

Will the QY6-0082 work alongside the original ink tanks and printhead carriage in my MG5470?

Yes, it is a direct mechanical and electrical replacement for the factory QY6-0082 head, so existing ink tanks and the carriage assembly remain fully compatible.
