Capacity and headroom for document and photo output

The head supports the full colour and monochrome resolution range of the listed Canon models. It handles everyday documents, borderless photos and CD/DVD label printing at the printer's rated speeds. Heavy continuous runs may exceed the thermal design of the carriage assembly and require cool-down pauses.

Thermals noise and power draw in normal use

The printhead operates at 110 V and draws power only during active firing cycles. Acoustic output is limited to the carriage mechanism of the host printer. Surface temperature remains within Canon's original specification for the IP and MP series during typical home or office workloads.

Questions about this item

Will the QY6-0072 printhead install directly into my Canon IP4700 without modifying the carriage?

The QY6-0072 is listed as compatible with the Canon IP4700 and shares the same mechanical fit as the original head, so it seats in the existing carriage without modification.

How can I verify the QY6-0072 is firing all nozzles correctly after I fit it?

Run the printer’s built-in nozzle-check pattern; a complete grid with no missing lines confirms every nozzle on the QY6-0072 is operating as intended.

Does the box contain only the QY6-0072 printhead or are ink tanks and installation tools included?

The packing is described as neutral and lists only the printhead; ink tanks and any service tools must be purchased separately.
