Premium fiber-based photo paper

Hahnemuhle Fine Art Pearl is a 285 gsm inkjet paper made from 100% alpha-cellulose. The triple-coated, lignin-free surface mimics traditional silver-gelatin darkroom paper. Each pack contains 25 sheets sized 11 x 17 inches for fine-art and photographic printing.

Consistent output across full print runs

The coating maintains uniform Dmax of 2.88 and 105% whiteness from the first sheet to the last. Stable pH between 7.9 and 8.5 prevents colour shift during extended printing sessions. Surface structure remains constant so density and tonal gradation do not drift under sustained workload.

Archival stability with no special handling

Acid-free construction and neutral pH give long-term resistance to yellowing and brittleness. The heavy 285 gsm base feeds reliably through compatible inkjet printers without curling or jamming. No additional drying time or climate control is required for normal studio use.

Questions about this item

Does the 285 gsm weight of the Fine Art Pearl paper cause ink drying or heat issues during long print runs?

The 285 gsm paper handles heavy ink loads without curling; it is a passive media so it generates no heat and adds no noise to the printer.

What printer interface or ink type is required to use this 11 x 17 inch Fine Art Pearl paper?

It is designed for inkjet printers using pigment or dye inks; no special interface beyond standard inkjet compatibility is needed.

Will the 105 % whiteness and 2.88 Dmax of this paper match the output of older darkroom prints I have?

The surface mimics traditional silver gelatin double-weight photo paper and exceeds typical darkroom Dmax and white point performance.
