Fine Art Paper for Professional Reproduction

Hahnemuhle Sugar Cane Paper is a 300gsm fine art inkjet paper designed for photographers and artists who require archival-quality output. The roll measures 44 inches wide by 39 feet long, providing ample length for large-format printing. Its composition uses 70 percent sugar cane fibres and 30 percent cotton, creating a sustainable substrate for detailed reproductions.

Natural White Surface with Instant Drying

The paper features a natural white tone rated at 83.5 percent whiteness without optical brighteners, producing warm hues and deep monochrome prints. A matte premium inkjet coating delivers defined colour and detail reproduction while the surface dries instantly, preventing smudges during handling. Acid-free and calcium carbonate buffered construction resists yellowing for long-term preservation.

Sustainable Alternative to Traditional Cotton Papers

This roll replaces conventional cotton-based fine art papers for creators who want a rapidly renewable raw material. The bagasse fibres are a by-product of sugar cane processing, reducing reliance on wood pulp. The jump is worthwhile when archival standards, a tactile felt structure and environmentally responsible sourcing are all required together.

Questions about this item

How do I load the 44in roll into my large-format printer without skewing the 300gsm sheet?

Feed the roll squarely onto the spindle, align the 44in edge with the printer’s media guides, and advance a short length to confirm straight tracking before printing.

Will the 70% bagasse and 30% cotton blend require any special storage to keep its archival rating?

Store the roll in its original sleeve at stable room temperature and humidity; the acid-free, lignin-free, calcium-carbonate-buffered sheet resists yellowing without extra treatment.

At what point does the matte coating saturate during a long monochrome run on this 300gsm roll?

The instant-drying coating handles heavy ink loads continuously; the practical limit is the 39ft roll length before a changeover is needed.
