Rigid plate caster for heavy carts

This rigid plate caster carries a 1250 lb load rating on a 6 in polyurethane wheel with an iron core. It is built for wheelbarrows, carts and other yard equipment that need straight-line tracking under weight. The non-marking tread protects finished floors while the rigid mount keeps direction steady.

Load limit and brake absence

The 1250 lb capacity is the maximum vertical load per caster; exceeding it risks wheel deformation or plate bending. No brake or swivel lock is fitted, so the caster cannot hold position on slopes or prevent unintended movement. Users must add external chocks or locking mechanisms where stationary stability is required.

Simple bolt-on mounting

The plate bolts directly to the equipment frame using standard hole patterns; no specialised tools are needed beyond a wrench set. The most common issue is misaligned holes causing uneven loading, which leads to premature bearing wear. Ensure the mounting surface is flat and hardware is tightened to the equipment manufacturer's torque specification.

Questions about this item

Should I pick the 1250 lb rigid plate caster or a swivel version for my cart?

Choose this rigid caster when you need straight-line tracking and maximum load stability; a swivel caster is better if the cart must turn in tight spaces.

What does the 1250 lb load rating mean once the caster is mounted on a loaded cart?

The 1250 lb figure is the maximum safe vertical load per caster; total cart capacity depends on the number of casters and how evenly the weight is distributed.

How does the polyurethane-on-iron wheel perform on concrete and will it mark the floor?

Polyurethane on an iron core resists wear on concrete, rolls quietly, and is specified as non-marking so it should not leave scuffs on finished floors.
