This adapter links a computer or laptop with a DisplayPort output to a monitor, projector or HDTV that only accepts a DVI input. It is a compact, unidirectional solution for extending or mirroring a desktop in office, home-entertainment or conference-room setups.

One-way DP-to-DVI conversion only

The built-in IC chip converts a DisplayPort signal to DVI-D Single Link; it cannot pass video from a DVI source to a DisplayPort screen. The gold-plated male DisplayPort connector includes latches that lock securely, and a release button must be pressed before unplugging.

Audio passthrough with separate DVI cable required

The adapter carries audio alongside video up to 1920x1080 at 60 Hz, also supporting 1600x1200 and 1280x1024. A standard DVI cable (not included) completes the link to the display.

Which DisplayPort version is used and what does it limit?

The unit converts a DisplayPort signal to single-link DVI-D. That link caps the maximum resolution at 1920x1080@60Hz and does not carry audio, even though the spec lists audio support.

What physical clearance do the latches need?
