It is a uni-directional converter that only works from DisplayPort output to VGA input. Buyers who need to connect a VGA source to a DisplayPort display cannot use this product.

Resolution and signal limits

The built-in IC chip converts the digital DisplayPort signal to analog VGA and supports resolutions up to 1920 x 1080 at 60 Hz, including 720p and 1600 x 1200. Audio pass-through is supported. The adapter does not work with Thunderbolt 3 ports and cannot transmit signals in the reverse direction from VGA to DisplayPort.

Installation notes and common issues

Each adapter has a latched DisplayPort male connector and a standard VGA female port; press the release button before unplugging to avoid damaging the latches. Gold-plated contacts and molded strain relief improve durability. A VGA cable is required between the adapter and the display but is not included in the pack.
