Purpose-built extension

This HANNORD Thunderbolt 4 extension cable adds .3 m of reach between a host and a Thunderbolt peripheral. It suits users who want to keep a dock or device permanently connected while reducing wear on the host port. The male-to-female layout lets the existing cable stay plugged into the computer.

40 Gbps certified throughput

The cable carries Thunderbolt 3 and USB4 traffic at 40 Gbps, enabling 8K at 60 Hz on a single display or dual 4K outputs. Triple shielding and silver-clad copper conductors preserve signal integrity at that rate. Total link length should stay under 1.2 m for full performance.

Port protection and durability

Nickel-plated connectors rated for 10000 mating cycles absorb the daily connect-disconnect cycles so the host port does not. An E-marker chip negotiates up to 100 W (20 V 5 A) Power Delivery for fast charging. Integrated aluminium-alloy moulding removes glue joints for a stronger strain-relief point.

Questions about this item

What does the 40 Gbps rating mean when the cable is connected to a real device?

It provides the full Thunderbolt 4 bandwidth for data, video and charging simultaneously, so a single 8K display at 60 Hz or dual 4K displays run at their native resolution without compression.

Which interface standard does the cable use and what does it limit in practice?

The cable is built to the Thunderbolt 4 specification, which caps the total extended length at 1.2 m for reliable 40 Gbps operation.

What physical space and connectors are needed to fit or mount this cable?

It has a male Thunderbolt plug on one end and a female Thunderbolt port on the other, with nickel-plated connectors rated for 10000 mating cycles and an aluminium-alloy housing that adds minimal bulk.
