5MP indoor dome camera

The Hanwha Techwin QND-8010R is a 5 megapixel network dome camera designed for indoor surveillance. It captures video at up to 2592x1944 resolution at 30 frames per second using H.265, H.264 or MJPEG compression. A built-in 2.8mm fixed lens provides a wide field of view, while integrated infrared LEDs illuminate scenes up to 20 metres in darkness. Power over Ethernet simplifies cabling by delivering data and power over a single RJ45 connection.

Installers needing PoE and wide-angle coverage

This camera suits installers who want a single-cable PoE deployment and a fixed wide-angle view for rooms or corridors. Hallway View mode rotates the image 90 degrees for narrow vertical spaces. Intelligent analytics detect motion, tampering, line crossing and defocus events. It is not intended for outdoor exposure, varifocal lens requirements or installations that exceed the 20 metre IR range.

2.8mm fixed focal length

The 2.8mm lens determines the viewing angle and cannot be adjusted after installation. Buyers must verify that this focal length covers the desired area at the required detail level. If a narrower or adjustable field of view is needed, a camera with a varifocal or different fixed lens should be selected.

Questions about this item

Does the QND-8010R need a separate power supply or does it draw power over the RJ45 link?

The camera supports Power over Ethernet, so a PoE switch or injector on the RJ45 cable supplies both data and power without an extra adapter.

Can I keep my existing 1080p recorder and still record the 5 MP stream from this camera?

Yes, the camera offers multiple resolutions including 1920x1080 at 30 fps, so a 1080p NVR can record that stream while the camera also captures 2592x1944 locally.

How do I confirm the IR illumination is working correctly after mounting the dome?

In darkness the built-in IR LEDs provide viewable length up to 20 m; check the live view at night to verify even illumination across the 2.8 mm field of view.
