Sealer & Dampproofer 0.9 gal

Henry HE107046 Sealer & Dampproofer is a water-based asphalt coating supplied in a 0.9 gal black container. It is intended for builders and homeowners who need a dampproofing layer on foundation walls or similar below-grade surfaces.

Application temperature and VOC

The product applies between 50 and 70 degrees F and carries a VOC content of 0 g/L. Low odour and water-based chemistry keep the jobsite comfortable during normal brush or roller work.

Coverage and dry time

One gallon covers approximately 100 sq ft and reaches a dry state in about 6 hours. Extended wet conditions or thicker coats will lengthen the cure, so plan the schedule for sustained exposure rather than a quick recoat.

Questions about this item

How do I apply the sealer, and what is the common mistake with temperature?

Apply the sealer at 50 to 70 degrees F. The step people get wrong is working outside this range, which prevents proper curing.

What maintenance will the sealed surface need later?

Inspect the asphalt-based coating annually for cracks or wear. Reapply to damaged areas to maintain the dampproofing barrier.

What limit appears first during sustained exposure?

The 100 sq ft per gallon coverage rate is the first limit. Exceeding it reduces film thickness and compromises water resistance.
