Hitachi CP-DX301 DLP Projector

The Hitachi CP-DX301 is a portable DLP business projector rated at 3000 ANSI lumens with a native 1024 x 768 resolution and 10000:1 contrast. It accepts 1080p input and includes HDMI, VGA, composite, S-Video, RS232 and audio mini-jacks. Built-in speakers and 3D-ready support suit meeting rooms and classrooms.

Who this suits and who should look elsewhere

This unit suits presenters who need a bright, portable projector for standard-throw setups with legacy and modern video sources. It is not for buyers who need native 1080p or 4K resolution, short-throw or ultra-short-throw placement, wireless casting, or lens-shift and keystone correction beyond basic tilt.

Capacity and headroom

At 3000 lumens and 10000:1 contrast the projector handles lit meeting rooms and 1080p video playback comfortably. Native XGA resolution means fine text and detailed spreadsheets lose clarity when scaled. Lamp life sits at roughly 65 percent of original specification, so heavy daily use will require earlier replacement.

Questions about this item

What video source do I need to connect to the HDMI port on the Hitachi CP-DX301?

Any device with an HDMI output — laptop, streaming stick, games console or media player — will send 1080p video to the projector.

Will my older laptop with only a VGA port work with this projector?

Yes, the VGA input accepts analogue signals from legacy laptops and desktops at the native 1024 x 768 resolution.

How can I verify the lamp is still bright enough after setup?

The lamp is rated at 65 % of original output; a bright, sharp 3000-lumen image on a white surface confirms it is performing as expected.
