5 L heating mantle with digital control

This 5 L heating mantle operates on 220 V and reaches a temperature range of RT to 350 °C. It combines heating and magnetic stirring in one unit with a digital display and self-tuning temperature function. The heating power is 900 W and the furnace wire uses Cr20Ni80 alloy. Insulation is provided by E-glass fibres rated to 450 °C.

It suits biology, medicine, chemistry and chemical engineering workflows that require simultaneous heating and stirring up to 2000 rpm. The intelligent controller uses inner and outer probes for ±1 °C accuracy and runs continuously for more than 8 hours. The 5000 ml capacity handles standard round-bottom flasks and brings water to a boil in 15 to 30 minutes. Stirring speed ramps up slowly to improve coupling and avoid splashing. Separate switches control heating and stirring independently. The mantle runs out of headroom for vessels above 5 L or processes above 380 °C.
