Purpose and fit

These flipper-door cabinets are built for the HON 38000 Series stack-on open shelf unit, model 38224NL. They add secure, enclosed storage above a 72-inch wide work surface for office environments that need lockable compartments.

Critical specification

The pair measures 36 inches wide by 15 inches high and mounts directly onto the specified open shelf unit, which is sold and shipped separately. Without that matching shelf unit the doors cannot be installed.

Durability and operation

Sturdy steel construction with a baked enamel finish resists stains and abrasion in high-traffic areas. Locking mechanisms secure contents while the radius-edge profile and .75-inch thick high-pressure laminate doors operate on heavy-duty ball-bearing suspensions.

Questions about this item

What does the 36-inch width mean once the doors are on a shelf?

The pair spans the full 36-inch front of a HON 38000 Series Stack-on Open Shelf Unit 38224NL, giving a continuous 72-inch run when two shelf units sit side by side.

Which mounting standard do the flipper doors use, and what does it limit?

They attach only to the HON 38000 Series Stack-on Open Shelf Unit 38224NL, so they cannot be fitted to other brands or to wall-mounted rails.

What physical space and hardware are needed to install the doors?

Each door is 36 inches wide, 15 inches high and .75 inches thick with a radius edge; the set includes locks and mounts directly to the matching 38000 Series open shelf unit.
