Three-Drawer Lateral File 36w

The HON 683LS 600 Series provides three drawers of lateral filing in a 36-inch wide charcoal cabinet. Double-walled base construction and a baked enamel finish over phosphate pretreatment deliver structural rigidity and corrosion resistance. Telescoping ball-bearing suspension ensures smooth drawer travel, while a mechanical interlock permits only one drawer to open at a time. The HON One Key interchangeable, core-removable lock secures both sides of every drawer.

Upgrade from vertical or two-drawer cabinets

This unit replaces narrower vertical files or two-drawer laterals that force front-to-back folder orientation or limit total capacity. The jump is worth it when side-to-side letter and legal filing with adjustable hangrails improves retrieval speed and aisle clearance. Four adjustable leveling guides stabilize the cabinet on uneven floors, and the counterweight is included where required to meet stability standards. Reinforced case steel construction supports the heavier load of full-width drawers.

Capacity for letter and legal folders side-to-side

Each drawer accommodates letter-size or legal-size folders from side-to-side using the included adjustable hangrails, maximizing linear filing inches per drawer. Drawer-extension restraint and flush drawer fronts keep contents contained and aligned. The interlock prevents tipping by blocking simultaneous drawer opening, which becomes critical when all three drawers are heavily loaded. Plastic label holders and recessed aluminum pulls support organization without protruding hardware.
