Four-Drawer Lateral File

The HON 694LS 600 Series provides four drawers of lateral filing space in a 42-inch wide cabinet finished in Charcoal. Double-walled base construction and a baked enamel finish over phosphate pretreatment deliver structural rigidity and corrosion resistance. Telescoping ball-bearing suspension ensures smooth drawer travel, while a mechanical interlock permits only one drawer to open at a time. A core-removable lock compatible with HON One Key secures both sides of every drawer.

Offices needing high-capacity side-to-side filing

This cabinet suits workplaces that store letter or legal folders side-to-side using the included adjustable hangrails. The 19-inch depth fits standard lateral file footprints, and four adjustable leveling guides stabilize the unit on uneven floors. Buyers who need vertical drawer orientation or a narrower footprint should consider a different configuration.

42-inch width with four drawers

The 42-inch overall width combined with four drawers defines the total filing capacity and the floor space required. Verify that the installation area accommodates this width and that the drawer count matches the volume of records you plan to store.

Questions about this item

Does the 694LS lateral file make any noise or generate heat during all-day use?

The 694LS is a passive steel cabinet with ball-bearing drawer slides, so it produces no operational noise or heat.

What must I already have on site for the 694LS to function properly?

You need a level floor area at least 42 inches wide and 19 inches deep; the four adjustable leveling guides compensate for minor unevenness.

Will the 694LS accept my existing letter-size and legal-size hanging folders?

Yes, the included adjustable hangrails let each drawer hold letter or legal folders side-to-side without modification.
