Whole-room cooling tower fan

The Honeywell HYF290B is a slim black tower fan designed for medium to large rooms. Its compact footprint allows flexible placement in home or office spaces. Eight speed settings range from a gentle sleep mode to powerful cooling. Oscillation distributes airflow across a wide area.

Remote control and lighting options

A handheld remote stores on the unit and works with front-panel touch controls that dim automatically after 15 seconds. Five backlight levels (100%, 75%, 50%, 25%, off) suit daytime or night-time use. Built-in timers for one, two, four and eight hours let the fan switch off unattended to save energy.

Portability and footprint

The fan weighs 10.21 and measures 32.83"H x 10"W x 10"D with a built-in carry handle for easy relocation. Buyers needing battery operation or smart-home integration will not find those features here.

Questions about this item

How often should the air intake grille be cleaned to keep the HYF290B running efficiently?

Wipe the intake grille with a soft brush or vacuum attachment every few weeks, or whenever dust buildup is visible, to maintain steady airflow through the tower.

Which component reaches its limit first during continuous all-day operation on the highest speed setting?

The motor's thermal protection will cycle the fan off if internal temperatures rise too high, so the heat limit appears before any mechanical wear.

How loud is the fan on the sleep setting when running overnight in a quiet bedroom?

On the lowest sleep setting the unit produces a gentle white-noise hum well below typical conversation level, and the control panel dims after 15 seconds to avoid light disturbance.
