HP 419496-001 16x DVD-ROM Drive

The HP 419496-001 is a 16x DVD-ROM drive with a SATA interface for internal 5.25in bays. It reads DVD-ROM media at up to 16x and CD media at up to 48x. This drive suits users who need to install software or access data from optical discs on a desktop PC.

Installation in a standard 5.25in bay

Mount the unit in a 5.25in drive bay and connect the SATA data and power cables. The SATA/150 interface works with common desktop motherboards. Ensure the bay opening aligns with the front bezel and that cables are not pinched by the case door.

Sustained read performance

The drive maintains its rated 16x DVD and 48x CD speeds during extended read sessions. Internal buffers help keep data flowing without sudden drops. Performance stays consistent as long as the disc surface is clean and the system can accept the data rate.
