Questions about this item

What laptop connector does the 7.4/5.0 mm tip on this 90 W adapter fit?

The 7.4/5.0 mm barrel connector fits the DC-in jack on the HP Compaq Pavilion models listed in the compatibility data, including DV3000, DV3100, dv4, dv5, dv6 and dv7 series notebooks.

Can I use this 19 V 4.74 A adapter with an older HP notebook that shipped with a 65 W unit?

Yes, the adapter delivers 19 V at up to 4.74 A; a notebook that originally used a 65 W 19 V supply will draw only the current it needs, so the higher wattage rating is safe.

How can I confirm the adapter is supplying 19 V DC after I plug it in?

Check the laptop’s battery indicator — it should show the charging icon and the OS power meter should report an AC source delivering 19 V.
