Screw-type heatsink for ProLiant DL580 G8V2

This HP 735514-001 heatsink assembly uses a screw mounting method to secure directly onto the processor socket of a ProLiant DL580 G8V2 server. The silver-coloured unit weighs 5.1 and measures 1 by 1 by 1. It is supplied as a refurbished component for replacing a damaged or missing cooler in that specific chassis.

Maintenance teams repairing a DL580 G8V2

Technicians restoring a ProLiant DL580 G8V2 to working order will find this direct-replacement heatsink matches the original mounting pattern. Buyers needing a cooler for a different server generation, a newer ProLiant model, or a non-HP platform should look elsewhere because the screw spacing and thermal interface are tailored to this single system.

Questions about this item

How is the screw-type heatsink assembly secured to the ProLiant DL580 G8V2 motherboard?

The assembly uses screws to mount directly onto the processor socket area; the step often missed is tightening the screws in a diagonal sequence to ensure even pressure across the CPU heat spreader.

When will the heatsink assembly need replacement in a ProLiant DL580 G8V2 server?

Replace the heatsink if the silver fins become bent, the mounting threads strip, or thermal paste degrades and temperatures rise above normal operating levels for the 580 server.
