The iStarUSA BPU-230SATA-BPL converts two standard 5.25″ drive bays into three hot-swappable 3.5″ slots for SAS and SATA drives. It targets server builders and workstation users who need quick drive changes without shutting down the system. A lockable front door secures the drives in shared or exposed environments.

Three drive capacity with 6.0 Gbps headroom

The backplane supports up to three 3.5″ or 2.5″ SAS and SATA I/II/III drives at 6.0 Gbps transfer rates. RAID 1, 0, 1+0 and 5 configurations are possible when a separate RAID controller is added. The cage saturates at three drives; larger arrays require additional bays or enclosures.

Aluminium body with 70 mm fan and LED alerts

An integrated 70 mm fan with speed control pushes front-to-back airflow through conductive dissipation grooves in the aluminium chassis. Power, drive activity, fan status and high-temperature LEDs give immediate visual feedback. The unit occupies two 5.25″ bays and needs a compatible backplane connection and RAID controller for array management.
