Compact Business Desktop

The HP 800 G2 Mini is a small-form-factor desktop computer built around an Intel Core i5-6500T processor running at 2.50 GHz with 16 GB of DDR4 memory and a 500 GB hard drive. Windows 10 Pro comes pre-installed. It is suited for office tasks, web-based applications and general productivity in space-constrained environments.

Office and Education Users

This system fits workers who need a quiet, space-saving PC for document editing, email, browser-based tools and legacy Windows software. The 16 GB memory allowance supports multitasking with several business applications open at once. Buyers who want faster boot and application load times, or who need large local storage for media libraries, should look at configurations with solid-state drives or higher-capacity drives.

16 GB DDR4 Memory

The installed 16 GB of DDR4 memory determines how many programs and browser tabs run smoothly without swapping to the hard drive. This capacity handles typical office workloads and light multitasking well. If your workflow regularly exceeds this amount — such as running virtual machines, large databases or memory-intensive creative suites — you will need a platform that accepts more memory.

Questions about this item

How do I open the HP 800 G2 Mini case to add or replace parts without damaging the internal cables?

Remove the single captive screw on the bottom cover, then slide the cover off; the 16GB DDR4 memory slots and the 500GB HDD bay are directly accessible once the cover is lifted.

Which components inside the 800 G2 Mini are most likely to need replacement after a few years of daily use?

The 500GB mechanical hard drive is the part with moving parts and will typically wear out before the 16GB DDR4 memory or the i5-6500T processor.

What performance limit appears first when the i5-6500T runs at full load for an extended period inside this Mini chassis?

The compact enclosure restricts airflow, so the processor reaches its thermal limit and reduces clock speed before the 16GB DDR4 or 500GB HDD become bottlenecks.
