Aruba AP-505 Wi-Fi 6 Access Point

The Aruba AP-505 is a cost-effective Wi-Fi 6 access point built for medium-density indoor environments such as schools, midsize offices and retailers. It provides high-performance connectivity for growing numbers of mobile and IoT devices. The unit is TAA compliant and ceiling mountable for flexible deployment.

1.77 Gbit/s maximum aggregate data rate

This access point delivers a maximum aggregate data rate of 1.77 Gbit/s using 802.11ax with up to 2 spatial streams and 80 MHz channel bandwidth. A single Gigabit Ethernet RJ-45 port provides the wired uplink. That throughput ceiling determines whether the AP can handle your peak client load.

Normal thermal and acoustic profile

The ceiling-mountable design uses passive cooling with no moving parts, so it runs silently in normal use. Power is supplied via the Gigabit Ethernet port using standard PoE, eliminating the need for a separate power adapter. Bluetooth 5 is integrated for location services and IoT management.

Questions about this item

What does the 1.77 Gbit/s figure mean for actual throughput on my network?

The 1.77 Gbit/s is the maximum aggregate data rate across both radios; real-world client throughput will be lower due to overhead, contention and environmental factors.

What does the Gigabit Ethernet port cap in practice?

The single RJ-45 Gigabit Ethernet uplink limits total wired backhaul to 1 Gbit/s, so combined wireless traffic cannot exceed that wire speed.

How is the AP-505 mounted to a ceiling?

The unit is designed as ceiling mountable; it includes hardware for surface or recessed installation on standard ceiling tiles or drywall.
