A managed 14-port switch with 12 PoE+ RJ45 ports, two SFP uplinks and a 139 W PoE budget for IoT and access points
The Aruba CX 6000 is a managed Layer 2 and Layer 3 switch with twelve 1 Gbps RJ45 ports and two SFP uplink slots. It delivers a 139 W Class 4 PoE budget across all twelve copper ports for IP phones, cameras, and wireless access points. Small to midsize businesses and branch offices gain a fully managed, fanless access layer without acoustic noise. The compact form factor suits quiet workspaces and space-constrained cabinets.
A fanless chassis eliminates moving parts and enables silent operation in open-plan offices or meeting rooms. Twelve RJ45 ports support 10/100/1000Base-T and negotiate down to legacy speeds automatically. Two SFP slots accept 1 Gbps transceivers for fibre uplinks to aggregation switches. The 165 W maximum power draw includes PoE delivery, so a single AC inlet powers both the switch and connected endpoints.
Replacing unmanaged desktop switches adds VLAN segmentation, SSH v2 management, SNMP monitoring, and RADIUS or TACACS+ authentication. The 8192-entry MAC table and 9220-byte jumbo frame support handle growing IoT device counts without flooding. The jump is worth it when IT teams need centralised configuration, secure remote access, and a single PoE budget for up to twelve powered devices.

The two SFP uplink slots run at 1 Gbps, matching the 1000Base-X standard listed for the CX 6000 12G model.
The compact, fanless chassis fits a standard 19-inch rack or can be placed on a desktop; no extra clearance for airflow is needed.
Connect to the console or management port, then enable the desired Layer 2 or Layer 3 features — many forget to save the running configuration before reboot.
