Outdoor Wi-Fi 6 access point

The HP Aruba R4W44A AP-565 belongs to the 560 series and delivers entry-level Wi-Fi 6 connectivity for outdoor and warehouse environments. It is built for organisations that need reliable wireless coverage in harsh conditions.

Capacity and headroom

The unit provides a maximum aggregate on-air data rate of 1.49 Gbps using HE80 and HE20 channels while the supplier title cites 1.73 Gbit/s. This throughput handles typical IoT and mobility loads but will saturate under dense high-bandwidth client concentrations.

Build integration

The weatherproof, temperature-hardened enclosure survives extreme heat, cold, moisture and airborne contaminants without extra sealing. All electrical interfaces include industrial-strength surge protection so the access point can mount directly in exposed locations. It is not suited for indoor-only deployments or installations that require a smaller form factor.

Questions about this item

Will the AP-565 work with my existing 802.11ac routers?

The AP-565 supports 802.11ax and is backwards compatible with 802.11ac clients, so it will serve your older devices while adding Wi-Fi 6 capacity.

How can I verify the AP-565 is operating at its 1.49 Gbps aggregate rate after installation?

Check the Aruba management dashboard for the negotiated PHY rate; it should show HE80 or HE20 clients near the 1.49 Gbps aggregate when conditions allow.

Does the R4W44A package include a PoE injector or do I need to buy one separately?

The box contains the weather-sealed AP-565 unit and mounting hardware; a PoE injector or compatible switch must be sourced separately.
