What this printer is

The HP Color LaserJet CP4525N is a new network colour laser printer rated at 42 ppm for both black and colour output. It offers a maximum paper input of 600 sheets and connects via Ethernet 10Base-T, 100Base-TX and 1000Base-T plus USB. The engine prints at 1200 x 1200 dpi using HP ImageREt 3600 and supports PCL 5, PCL 6, PostScript 3 and PDF 1.4.

Who this suits and who should look elsewhere

This printer suits offices that need fast colour throughput on a wired network and can supply their own toner. It does not suit buyers who need Wi-Fi or mobile printing built in, who want toner included in the box, or who require a longer manufacturer warranty than the 90 day depot coverage provided.

The specification that decides fit

The single deciding specification is the 600 sheet maximum paper input combined with 42 ppm colour speed on a Gigabit Ethernet interface; if your workflow demands larger unattended runs or wireless connectivity, this model will not meet that need.

Questions about this item

How do I connect the HP Color LaserJet CP4525N to a network and what step is often missed?

Connect the Ethernet cable to the RJ-45 port and configure the IP address via the control panel or embedded web server; the step often missed is setting a static IP or reservation so the printer keeps the same address after a reboot.

Which maintenance items will need replacement after extended use on this printer?

The fuser, pickup rollers, separation roller, multipurpose pickup roller, separation pads, transfer roller and pressure roller are the consumable maintenance parts that wear out over time.

What limit appears first when the CP4525N runs continuous high-volume print jobs?

The 600-sheet input capacity is the first constraint; once the trays are empty the printer pauses until paper is reloaded, even though the engine can sustain 42 ppm.
